SKINVIVE™ by Juvéderm® is an innovative injectable treatment designed to offer long-lasting hydration and improvements in skin quality. Unlike dermal fillers, which are typically used to restore lost facial volume or enhance specific features, SKINVIVE™ uniquely focuses on the overall appearance and hydration of your skin. We administer this treatment via microinjections spread across the desired treatment area, injecting a skin conditioning hyaluronic acid (HA) gel into the middle layers of the dermis to nourish the skin from the inside out.

What does SKINVIVE™ treat?

SKINVIVE™ treatments are indicated for use on the face and neck and have a triple-action effect. They hydrate the skin, because of the high water-binding capacity of HA. They increase elasticity, because HA also stimulates collagen production. Finally, they smooth the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines. SKINVIVE™ can be suitable for all ages and skin types, and may be particularly beneficial if you have dry skin or are experiencing a decline in your luminosity and elasticity due to the natural aging process.

How long do SKINVIVE™ results last?

The improvements resulting from a single SKINVIVE™ treatment are typically noticeable by one month post-treatment and continue to last for up to nine months. This treatment can be repeated at regular intervals to maintain your results.

Your Questions Answered

At Clinic 805, SKINVIVE™ treatments are administered by qualified medical professionals with extensive injectable training. Your initial appointment will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, and we’ll walk you through the treatment process so you know exactly what to expect at each step.

Your SKINVIVE™ treatment will consist of a series of quick injections spread across the treatment area. SKINVIVE™ includes lidocaine in its formulation, which helps to reduce discomfort during the procedure. Together with your injector you may also choose to numb the treatment area with ice packs or a topical anesthetic cream prior to treatment.

Be sure to let your injector know if you have a history of low blood pressure, fainting, or a phobia of needles. You should plan to avoid exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours following treatment. Exposure to any of these may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection sites.

Although we only offer treatments with excellent safety profiles, SKINVIVE™ treatments are still medical procedures that carry a certain amount of risk, and it’s important to us that patients are fully educated on their treatment of interest so they can make an informed choice.

The most common side effects following injectable treatments like SKINVIVE™ include injection-site redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, discolouration, infection, and itching. One of the risks of injectable treatments is vascular occlusion, which can be caused by a small amount of product obstructing the flow of blood in a blood vessel. The treatment for vascular occlusion is a medication called hyaluronidase, which dissolves the injectable product.

Complications from injectable treatments are rare but may be serious and/or permanent. Complications that have been reported for dermal filler facial injections include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring.

You are not a candidate for SKINVIVE™ if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have dental work or an immunization scheduled within two weeks before or after your procedure, or if you have any type of active infection or virus. If you have any type of neuromuscular disorder, this should be discussed with your treatment provider to determine whether it affects your candidacy.

If you develop a rash or irritation in the area you are seeking to treat, we will need to postpone your dermal filler appointment until your skin has cleared up. If you have a history of cold sores, please let your treatment provider know.

If your goal is an improvement in skin quality, we highly recommend investing in a daily skincare regimen with a medical grade skin line like ZO® Skin Health. Your provider will be happy to guide you with personalized recommendations.

We sometimes combine SKINVIVE™ with Morpheus8 treatments to specifically address the appearance of neck lines.
