Medical Office AssistantAlicia’s friendly smile will welcome you to clinic 805. She brings a strong skill set to the clinic, with several years of customer service experience and training in office administration. Alicia is responsible for patient communications, scheduling, and OR booking, and with her caring nature, will assist in making your experience as seamless and as comfortable as possible.
Medical Office AssistantSherylea is often the first point of contact at the clinic, answering phone calls and fielding the email information requests off our website. Her pleasant demeanor will welcome you to the clinic, whether on the phone or in person. Sherylea has a keen knowledge of cosmetic procedures, skincare products and treatments, having worked in the field of medical esthetics for the past six years. She is responsible for organizing appointments and assisting patients in office.
Office Administrative Co-ordinator/Accounts ManagerLisa is responsible for organizing patient information and account management, and often acts as a liaison for patients seeking financing for their procedure. She is the office administrative co-ordinator, responsible for the human resources and office administrative concerns of Dr. Smith’s practice.
L.P.N., Post-Operative Care/Surgical BookingKate is a Licensed Practical Nurse. She has worked in the healthcare field since graduating from nursing college in 2009. She is licensed with CLPNBC and remains a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
For the past seven years, Kate has worked as a Practical Nurse. She has experience with long-term care, acute care, home care and cosmetic medicine.
Kate’s passion for caring for others is what attracted to her to the profession of nursing, and it’s why she continues to work in the field to this day.
Kate is responsible for surgical bookings and providing post-operative care.
R.N., CANS, Clinical Nurse SpecialistShelley is a registered nurse, licensed under the C.R.N.B.C. and certified by the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board as a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS). Her background includes acute care, community health, dermatology, and plastic surgery settings. Since 2000, she has focused her career as an aesthetic nurse. In 2007, she was certified by Cutera Inc. as a Clinical Applications Trainer for Western Canada. She instructs physicians and nurses on the latest laser safety and Cutera laser treatment protocols. Shelley believes in customizing individualized injectable, laser skin rejuvenation and skin care programs concentrating on the specific goals of each of her patients. She is a member of the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Specialty Nurses, the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses, the Dermatology Nurses Association and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
R.N., Nurse InjectorKathryn has more than 30 yrs of health care experience. For the past 15 yrs Aesthetic medicine has been her passion. Kathryn integrates clinical expertise and artistic ability to enhance and restore the natural beauty of her clients. She likes to work collaboratively with her clients to meet their rejuvenation goals.
Kathryn obtained her certificate in the Cosmetic Use of Botulinum A Exotoxin from UBC Dermatology in 2001. Since then, she has had extensive experience and training in providing both cosmetic and therapeutic neuromodulator treatments to her clients. She has been injecting dermal fillers since 2003 and has preceptored with many of the top Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons and GP's across Canada. In addition, she has attended numerous advanced injection technique courses in London, Paris, Monaco, US, and Canada and has worked as a national trainer, teaching Physicians and nurses basic and advanced injection techniques.
Working as a clinical trainer and educator for a leading medical technology distributor for 5 years has provided her with extensive knowledge of many cosmetic lasers, light based and radio frequency devices, dermal fillers and cosmeceuticals.
Kathryn is dedicated to education and has pursed additional degrees and certificates in Business Management, Health Care Administration, Leadership, Cosmetic Chemistry and Fine Art (sculpture and pottery). She is also on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Specialty Nurses, who developed national standards of practice for Nurse Injectors in Canada.
Kathryn enjoys fitness, hiking, skiing, yoga, cooking, gardening and travel.
R.N., Surgical Assist/Patient ConsultantCindy is a registered nurse, licensed under the C.R.N.B.C. She has been involved in acute surgical nursing since 1991, specializing in plastic surgery. Cindy has been working with Dr. Smith since 1993. She is Dr. Smith’s surgical assist in the operating room and traveled to Guatemala with him and Project Hands to operate on those in need. Cindy provides nursing consultation, as well as post-operative management for our patients.
R.N., OR Coordinator/Nurse ManagerCarol is a registered nurse, licensed under C.R.N.B.C. and has been involved in perioperative and post anaesthetic nursing in acute care settings for over 30 years. She also brings management experience and expanded understanding and expertise in sterile processing of supplies and instruments.
R.N., BScN, Recovery/Pre-Admissions NursePamela is a registered nurse, licensed under the C.R.N.B.C. and has been practicing in cosmetic surgery for over a decade. She is our pre-admissions nurse, making sure patients are prepared for surgery. As well, Pamela thoroughly enjoys working in the recovery room, providing friendly, informative care, supporting the patient and their family during the recovery phase. Her nursing travels in the past, to underdeveloped regions, have provided her with rich experiences which are evidenced in her compassionate ways.
R.N., Recovery NurseNancy is a Registered Nurse, licensed under C.R.N.B.C and has been involved in Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery since 2005. Nancy loves working in the recovery room and enjoys the one on one care she can provide to each patient assisting them through a positive surgical experience.
Sterilizing TechnicianPat has many years of experience in both the private and public sector (Island Health) as a surgical sterilization technician. She performs a variety of duties including sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies, documentation and quality control follow-up.
